Summary

We are hiring a lead teacher to join our child care team of professionals.

Duties

1. Child growth and development

a. Coordinate and implement educational curriculum and activities based on

   developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards to actively engage 

   children and encourage and promote learning in all areas of development.

b. Develop relationships with children and families to foster a safe/loving environment.

c. Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress  

   reports, and parent-teacher conferences.

2. Health, safety and nutrition

a. Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and

   cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.

b. Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned

   activities, hygiene, and safety standards.

c. Follow all safety guidelines and have knowledge of all emergency drills and safety

               Procedures and ensuring center policies and state regulations are met.

         d. Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.

3. Professional development/Professionalism

a. Be a Christian example to the children, their families, co-workers and the community.

c. Attend professional meetings, staff meetings, and professional development to

   maintain and improve professional competence to meet or exceed state guidelines.

d. Maintain confidentiality

e. Mentor aide as to her duties and expectations

f. Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.

4. Learning environments and Christian curriculum

a. Instruct the children in the Christian faith using the curriculum determined by the team.

b. Plan and prepare learning opportunities that encourage learning through physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, and self-help areas; for the total development of the child.


Physical Requirements

·      Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.

·      Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

Requirements

·      Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.

·      Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.

·      High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.

·      A strong understanding of child development.

·      Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

·      Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.

·      Must clear full background check and fingerprinting and must pass health screening.
