Summary

Under the direction of the Peer Recovery Support Manager, the Employment Specialist supports individuals by providing hope, encouragement, and support for their self-directed goals. The responsibilities of this position include development and integration of an employment plan for individuals, independently, or with another peer (family support and/or recovery support) worker for their participant. This is a direct service position, supporting individuals advancing work goals by conducting vocational profiles, developing work plans, linkage to vocational training, employment and support with tasks necessary for gainful employment.

Duties

  • Provide one-on-one employment support to program participants.
  1. Conduct GPRA assessments (will train).
  2. Conduct a skills and training needs assessment.
  3. Discuss an employment plan based on employment goals.
  4. Assist in developing a personalized and professional resume as appropriate.
  5. Prepare clients for the job search process.
  6. Prepare clients for the interview and hiring process including conducting mock interviews.
  7. Work to match qualified candidates to available positions.
  8. Assist in filling out applications online/ on paper.
  9. Monitor job retention and provide services to working participants to reduce stress and support employment retention.
  10. Understand other services offered by the agency, such as family support, additional peer support, ancillary services and provide connection.

  • Assist individuals with career exploration and job analysis, utilizing this process to create Individual Recovery Works Plans.
  • Maintain contact with the participant and monitor the status of their employment (e.g. interviewing, working, lay-off, in search of career enhancement)
  • Collaborate with individual's Peer Specialist and/or Family Support Specialist to promote wellness and recovery.
  • Outreach to community employers to promote recovery-friendly employment cultures and policies.
  • Outreach to community organizations that may offer ancillary support as appropriate.
  • Support participant self-directed goals and objectives.
  • Collect data as required for the purposes of requirement of private, state, and federal funding grants and sources.
  • Support the organizational requirements for accreditation and licensing requirements as relates to policies, procedures, and trainings required for recovery coaches.
  • Adhere to Archways' mission, vision, and ethical guidelines.
  • Stay current in maintaining updated information and resources as it related to workforce readiness and vocational goals.
  • Works closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure individuals needs are met.
  • Provides interpretation for clients as needed.
  • Actively participate in supervision.
  • Take leading role in organizing events through employer contacts
  • Other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Valid NH Driver's license and appropriate insurance
  • Criminal Background check
  • 2 - 3 years previous experience in workforce development
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competency and community awareness
  • Ability to consider and incorporate diverse perspectives, while brokering positive relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Crisis management skills
  • CRSW or pursuit thereof (will provide training for right applicant).
