Summary

The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Center Director to create and ensure the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center's care. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Assistant Director collaborates and assists with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered and that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately. He/she must be able to professionally communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. The assistant Director is responsible for communicating with families, food preparation when needed and maintaining all licensing and accreditation standards.

Duties

  • Assume duties of Center Director and Teachers as needed during their absence.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to quality standards in accordance with state licensing and accreditation standards guidelines.
  • Ensure and train the employees to implement the curriculum, follow the daily schedule, and encourage participation by children
  • Implement improvements where needed.
  1. Help to ensure smooth daily transition from home to the child care center
  • Maintain communication with families through appropriate outreach activities.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 year as a lead teacher of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting.
  • High energy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a professional manner.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Must pass health screening.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Training prior to hire
  • Must have a valid drivers license to be able to do van runs when necessary
