Early Childhood - Food Service Coordinator/Cook

Summary

The Food Service Coordinator/Cook supervises food preparation and serves meals and snacks to center children. The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for maintenance, cleanliness, inventory and safety of kitchen.

*Training is available.

*Pay: Depends on education and experience.

*All positions are on a 90 day probationary period, after which there is eligibility for additional pay increase.

Duties

• Plan menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
• Prepare, cook and deliver meals.
• Maintain hygiene and safety of kitchen according to state licensing requirements.
• Order and/or shop for food and related supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• If needed, willing to provide extra assistance in classrooms.

Requirements

• Experience in food service preferred; preferably in child care or an institutional setting, however, training is available.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
• Must clear full background check.
• Must pass health screening.
