Active Youth Academy is hiring passionate and energetic instructors to provide AFTER-SCHOOL enrichment classes to elementary students in the following areas: Art, STEM, Dance, Theatre, Science, Martial Arts, Step, Photography, DJ and Digital Music, and Active Sports. The After-school Enrichment Teacher is responsible for developing and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Enrichment teachers should expect to work 2 to 5 days weekly from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM or 3 PM to 6 PM. Enrichment teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.


  • Develop creative and engaging enrichment lessons.
  • Travel to assigned school with instructional material to deliver curriculum (onsite)
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of behavior.
  • Uphold all rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and the safety and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to follow planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.


  • Minimum of 1 year of professional childcare experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Requirements include taking frequent walks, using hands and fingers, handling objects, tools, or controls, and talking to and hearingz voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Salary : $19 to $25/Hr
