Teacher Assistants

Summary

Perform duties that assist the teacher in the classroom to which you are assigned and all duties related to the care of preschool aged children.

Duties

• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, playgrounds, field trips, etc.
• Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
• Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
• Organize and label materials and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their eye levels and perceptual skills.
• Type, file, and duplicate materials.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as needed.
• Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, learning centers, etc.
• Take class attendance and maintain attendance records.
• Organize and supervise games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
• Organize and maintain the classroom appearance and cleanliness.
• Clean, sanitize, and prepare the classroom daily.

Requirements

• Must have GED or High School Diploma
• Must be able to clear background checks
• Must be able to clear a TB test and health assessment
• Must LOVE children
