General Part-Time Position Hours

The Part-Time Teacher at our schools can have flexible opportunities for scheduling. Some of our Part-Time Teachers work full days only a couple days a week, some work only mornings, some work only afternoons, some only come to cover lunch breaks in the middle of the day. Our hours of operation are from 7:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday for our families. We are willing to work with you on the hours of availability you have!

Duties

General Part-Time Position Description

The Part-Time Teacher is responsible for stepping into classrooms to help foster cohesive teaching teams, assisting in the implementation of the curriculum, and helping manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom they’re scheduled in. Part-Time Teachers should understand or actively learn children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Part-Time Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively collaborate with other teachers at the campus, and resolve any parental concerns. This position reports to the Pedagogista (Program Director).


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of educational curriculum in assigned classrooms by modifying classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Implement individual and group age-appropriate activities in assigned classrooms to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met in assigned classrooms.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment in all assigned classrooms – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files in assigned classrooms.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-1.5 years of professional child care experience preferred
  • High energy.
  • Interest in nature and outdoor learning preferred
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.

About Us

We are conveniently located off from Route 2 in Williston, just past Taft Corners at 135 Talcott Road. Sensations in Learning, a Next Generation Nature Based School has the feeling of being at home.
