After School Site Director

Summary

Creative Kids Adventures is looking for a qualified individual to help us open a new after-school program in the Reading Elementary School, serving children in K-5. We are looking for an energetic, fun, responsible person to lead our program and fulfill our mission of providing a fun and engaging place for children to enjoy after school with a focus on nature exploration and child led activities.

This position can either be part time or full-time. Part time hours would be 2:30-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday while school is in session. Full-time would be up to 35 hours a week with some remote work and professional development trainings in the mornings and then 2:30-5:30 p.m. in the school leading the program. The determination will be made based on the best candidate.

Duties

This person would be responsible for the overall operations of the after-school program, including providing a variety of activities that are age appropriate and based on the interests of the children enrolled, working with and supervising other staff members within the team when applicable, communicating with parents and school officials and working with the Owner and Executive Director to always fulfill the mission and goals set forth for the program.

 

Additional duties include:

• Daily attendance
• Serving the provided snacks
• Implement the curriculum provided and adapt it to meet the needs of the students in the program.
• Coordinating with school officials for special events or for students as needed
• Light cleaning tasks
• Regularly communicating with families and Owner
• Meeting training requirements per licensing regulations for the position (about 12 hours annually)
• Supervise other staff in a team like manner when applicable.

Requirements

The Afterschool Site Director for an Afterschool Child Care Program shall meet or exceed the following qualifications:

• be at least eighteen years of age
• possess a BA, BS or Associate’s degree,
• and have one of the following:
• at least ten months direct work experience with school age children or
• Vermont On-The-Job Training certificate or
• Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential or
• Vermont Program Director Credential or
• Vermont Teacher Licensure or
• Master’s Degree in a youth-related field

Must have a current CPR/First aid certification

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with school age children prefered.
