Summary

The Facilities Maintenace Manager is critical to the successful management and maintenance of SOECA. He/she is responsible for managing the maintenance of the building and grounds, including janitorial services, preventative maintenance, and landscaping for the school campus.  The Facilities Manager works closely with the Director of Operations and is a direct report thereto. 

Duties

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Works to maintain the school campus building and grounds – Early Learning Academy/ Preparatory Academy
  • Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the school:
  • Plumbing, HVAC, Hand Tools, Ladders, Ice/Snow/Leaves Removal, Drywall Repair, Building Office Furniture, and Emergency Repairs.
  • OSHA knowledge, Good Communication, Good Work Ethic, Cleanliness, Excellent Customer Service to our faculty, staff, scholars, and vendors.
  •  Maintenance Tasks, Minor Maintenance, Perform Routine Maintenance, Inspect Facility Equipment, Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Ventilation, Equipment Maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, Fire Protection, Electrical Troubleshooting, Building Systems, and Safety Procedures.
  • Help teachers/admin with any classroom/building repairs (putting together furniture, repairing broken furniture/toys, etc.)
  •  Assist with set up for on campus events and meetings
  • Ensure campus safety by closing the building daily
  • Ensure entry ways are free of any debris (deliver all packages upon arrival)
  • Ensure parking lot if free of any litter and loitering each evening
  • Ensure facilities are in good repair and provide a safe environment
  • Coordinate all maintenance, cleaning requests, and work orders.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and supplies for custodial, maintenance, and emergency preparedness
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage and janitor closet(s)
  • Pressure wash playground equipment 2x a year and make regular and routine safety inspections of all playgrounds.
  •  Wash outdoor windows periodically (especially in the summer).
  • Coordinate and assist with set up for on campus events and meetings
  • Ensure outdoor beautification of campus is prioritized
  • Ensure entry ways are free of any debris
  • Ensure parking lot if free of any litter and loitering
  •  Maintain effective safety program for all members of facilities; complete all safety checks on equipment systems
  • Coordinate and schedule all maintenance, cleaning requests, and work orders
  • Supervise and train any custodial, mechanic and maintenance team; evaluate workloads and reassign job functions for more efficient operation
  • Ensure compliance with government health and safety standards; keep records of all permits, licenses, and citations
  • Oversee all third-party vendors, i.e. WOF, landscaping, pest control, external cleaning and carpet cleaning vendors, and alarm system
  • Manage the fire, safety, and security systems
  • Respond quickly to emergency problems and be on-call 24/7 to meet with vendors, repairmen or suppliers, when necessary
  • Submit all facilities cleaning and operation supplies and materials to Director of Operations; research prices and buy items based on best prices with quality and volume in mind.
  • Under Director of Operations ’s guidance, solicit, review, and negotiate bids for repairs and projects
  • Maintain inventory of tools and supplies for custodial, maintenance, and emergency preparedness
  • Work with the Director of Operations in the management of construction, renovation, and maintenance any related/future operations and projects
  • Perform and oversee wide variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the school
  • Maintain owner manuals/information, asset lists, schedules, and maintenance records
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage closet(s)
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Operations 
  • Comply with all Seeds of Excellence Christian Academy policies, procedures, and quality standards as well as safety and environmental regulations
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Operations and/or Head of School.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College or trade school degree preferred.
  • Required to pass a background check with DECAL
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of successful facilities management experience
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the school
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while upholding Christian values 
  • Be able to lift, carry, and move boxes, furniture, and such that you find in a school and office

Schedule: Full Time (Monday-Friday) -on call as needed for emergencies

Salary: Based on education and experience



Salary : $37,000 to $45,000/Yr
