Summary
The cook supervises food preparation and serves meals and snacks to the center children. The cook is also responsible for the cleanliness, inventory, and safety of the kitchen.
Duties
- Follow menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
- Prepare, cook, and deliver meals.
- Maintain hygiene and safety of kitchen in accordance with state licensing requirements.
- Keep inventory of food, paper products, cleaning supplies, and other items in the kitchen.
- Assist delivery driver with all food and supply orders weekly from store.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- And all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Maintain a valid First Aid and CPR Certification
- Obtain Food Preparation and Nutrition Training certification (four hours) within first 30 days of employment
- Maintain a satisfactory criminal records and comprehensive background check
- Complete 18 hours of professional development training annually
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to move as the position requires
