Assistant Childcare Teacher
About This Role
We are seeking an Assistant Childcare Teacher to join our team at Chroma Early Learning Academy. In this role, you will assist lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing environment that fosters the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. Responsibilities will include supporting the implementation of age-appropriate activities, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and communicating effectively with staff and families. What You'll Do
- Support lead teachers in providing day-to-day care to children in the classroom, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Oversee the maintenance of a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment, adhering to Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards.
- Collaborate with lead teachers to design and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.
- Monitor and record developmental milestones, sharing insights with families to ensure their child's progress and well-being.
- Comply with all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation, upholding the highest standards in childcare.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities required for Quality Rated compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Ability to meet all requirements under Georgia’s Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Ability to Pass a Background Check
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.
- Passion for early childhood education and the social-emotional well-being of young children.
- High school diploma or GED required
Nice To Have
A minimum of one year of teaching or childcare experience is a plus, but not required.
