We are seeking a responsible and engaging Afterschool Teacher to provide supervision and meaningful activities for school-aged children after their regular school day.
This position is ideal for someone who can balance structure with fun while helping children complete schoolwork, participate in activities, and enjoy a positive afternoon environment.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise children during afterschool hours
- Help children transition from their school day into the program
- Provide assistance with homework and age-appropriate educational activities
- Organize games, creative projects, group activities, and enrichment opportunities
- Encourage teamwork, respectful communication, and positive behavior
- Support children during snacks, transitions, and scheduled routines
- Monitor attendance and maintain required records
- Keep activity areas safe, clean, and organized
- Observe children's needs and respond appropriately
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians
- Follow program policies, safety procedures, and childcare requirements
- Work cooperatively with other staff members
Requirements
Qualifications
- CDA, TCC, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous afterschool teaching experience preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
