Global Kids Preschool is a locally owned and family-focused school, dedicated to providing exceptional care and education to young children. We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual to lead our Classroom. We are looking for someone to start as a full time floater for a month to get to know our school and our team then take over our 2 year old classroom when the teacher starts Maternity Leave in October. Floater Hours would be 9am to 6pm. Lead Teacher hours would be 830am to 430pm. When teacher returns from Maternity Leave in late Spring we would love to keep this new teacher on to continue with our team. Our school is growing now, we recently added a brand new building!

What You'll Do
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an individual who is curious, loves to explore new topics, and has a deep passion for learning. Our curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, allowing us to create project-based learning experiences based on the children's interests. This role is perfect for someone who is excited to help children develop a lifelong love of learning while guiding them through their early developmental milestones.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum based on weekly plans developed by Lead Teachers to nurture and stimulate the overall development of the children in your care.
- Continuously evaluate and adapt the classroom environment to meet the evolving needs of the children.
- Provide responsive care, adapting routines and plans to align with the children’s interests and developmental stages.
- Observe and document children's progress, contributing to developmental progress reports as needed.
- Foster cultural awareness and respect for each child’s unique background by incorporating diverse values into lesson plans and activities.
- Welcome new children and orient their families to the classroom, ensuring a smooth transition into the school environment.
- Maintain open and proactive communication with parents and caregivers, encouraging their participation in the learning process.
- Ensure children’s well-being through daily health checks and maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy classroom.
- Supervise volunteers, interns, and substitutes, offering guidance and support.
- Participate in weekly planning meetings and collaborate with fellow teachers to continuously improve the educational experience.
- Provide functional training for new team members and assist with the integration of new staff into the classroom.
- Report any child abuse symptoms immediately to the supervisor and/or the child abuse hotline.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the development of the preschool's long-term goals and objectives.
- As part of our "team" philosophy, support additional tasks and responsibilities when necessary.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant early childhood education or child development certification is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Familiarity with the Minimum Standard Requirements for Childcare Homes and Centers.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using computers for communication, record-keeping, and research purposes.
- Ability to make informed decisions for the safety and well-being of children.
- Maintain confidentiality and act as a positive role model for children.
- Ability to work effectively with children, families, and staff in a supportive and professional manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands of this role include:
- Standing, sitting, reaching, bending, squatting, and occasionally crawling or kneeling.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, with the ability to lift up to 40 pounds in case of emergency.
